Sensor technology has finally become the standard among people with diabetes who use insulin. All sensors share the same basic function – continuous glucose monitoring instead of just a few measurements per day – but each also brings unique features. I had the opportunity to try the new Apwell Anytime CGM, and I’m confident it will find its place among users worldwide.
The package includes the glucose sensor, a transmitter that sends data to a smartphone, a charging dock for the transmitter (similar to those used for modern wireless earbuds), a charger, and a cable.
The setup is very straightforward. In the App Store or Google Play, you’ll find the Yuwell Anytime app, which guides you step by step. The transmitter needs to be charged for about 20 minutes, with a blue light indicating when it’s full, after which it connects to the app.
It’s a plus that the applicator is very small, which minimizes waste—especially since the transmitter is reusable. This makes the system highly eco-friendly.
Another benefit is that the sensor comes with an extra adhesive patch to ensure the sensor stays in place for its full wear time. This is useful for those who need additional support. In general, adhesives on sensors can sometimes cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. If the patch causes itching, redness, or blisters, the sensor should be replaced with a different type.
Once applied, the transmitter clips onto the sensor and rotates clockwise until it locks. It is compact, made of high-quality white plastic, smooth, and visually appealing. Apwell Anytime measures glucose every 3 minutes and sends the data directly to the app.
The app itself is simple, intuitive, and available in multiple languages. This is especially important for older users. Each sensor lasts 14 days. After that, it is removed, while the transmitter is recharged and reused with a new sensor. While you do need to take care of the transmitter, this is definitely an “environmentally friendly sensor.” 🙂
The system provides alerts for high and low glucose levels, as well as for rapid changes. All alerts can be customized, silenced, or set to vibration—something that makes everyday situations like theater, work, or meetings easier. Calibration is not required, as the sensor is factory-calibrated.
This is one of the few sensors tested and approved for placement on both the arm and the abdomen. This is especially important for users who apply sensors themselves and may find it easier to place them on the stomach.
It also helps those who prefer a less visible option. Changing insertion sites is also useful after long-term use of the same area. The sensor should be placed at least one centimeter away from the navel. People with very muscular or very soft abdomens may need to experiment to find what works best.
Apwell Anytime CGM CT3 in short:

Every new sensor is not just new technology, but also a new opportunity for each of us to find the one that suits us best—so that we can live more freely, calmly, and successfully with diabetes. 🙂
