Aidex is a small continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor that lasts 14 days. There is also an Aidex Lite version on the market that lasts 10 days.
Aidex sensors and the transmitter are distributed by an established medical company that represents foreign manufacturers and has long-term experience in the medical devices market. This indicates a stable supply chain and low risk of sudden market withdrawal. Both the sensors and the transmitter can be purchased directly. In some regions, reimbursement through local health insurance systems may be available, depending on national or regional healthcare regulations.
The price is approximately €60 for a 14-day sensor. The transmitter is purchased separately and costs around €73, but it can last up to 4 years. From a cost–benefit perspective, this is a solid investment, especially in healthcare systems where partial or full reimbursement is available.
Sensor placement, accuracy, and device use
The sensor and transmitter are very small and easy to apply. The applicator is comfortable, and after applying the sensor, the transmitter simply clips on. During daily use, the sensor is barely noticeable. Glucose values are transmitted every 5 minutes to a smartphone or to a dedicated PDM device. In practice, smartphone use is more convenient, as it is always readily available.
The mobile application is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Pairing the transmitter with the app is straightforward and fast. You only need to enter the code printed on the back of the transmitter; the rest of the setup is largely automatic. Alarm thresholds can then be configured according to personal needs.

Sensor accuracy is excellent, with minimal deviation compared to finger-stick measurements, including on the first day after application, which is a critical factor for CGM reliability.
The app is well designed, simple to use, and translated into multiple languages. It also supports data sharing with family members or caregivers. The only notable drawback of the system is the data-sharing feature, which can be unreliable. Interruptions in data delivery to follower accounts occur relatively often, but the issue is usually resolved by reselecting the follower. This is clearly a software-level issue and can be fixed with an application update, as it is unrelated to the sensor or transmitter hardware.
Application

Overall, this is a high-quality and affordable CGM system. A key advantage is the availability of local distributors and support, which makes problem resolution significantly easier compared to systems with limited regional presence. Support staff are accessible and responsive when assistance is needed.
